Charles Metzger, LSRP
Charles Metzger is an Environmental Project Manager with BRS. He is a NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professional with sixteen years of experience investigating and remediating contaminated sites.
Mr. Metzger's interest in marine and environmental science began in high school while volunteering with Clean Ocean Action and the National Marine Fisheries Service at Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Thereafter, he completed BS degrees in Marine Science and Environmental Studies from the Richard Stockton College of NJ (now Stockton University). During college, Mr. Metzger worked part time for Rutgers University, conducting research throughout the New Jersey coast and New York harbor. This work culminated in a paper (as primary author) that was published in a regional peer-reviewed journal.
After graduating from college, Mr. Metzger worked on a US Environmental Protection Agency contract with the Superfund program. He worked throughout EPA Region 2 investigating hazardous waste sites and overseeing cleanups. Thereafter, Mr. Metzger worked for a private consulting firm, where he managed a broad range of projects in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for insurance carrier and commercial clients. Mr. Metzger has conducted all phases of assessment, investigation and remediation at contaminated sites. In addition, he served as Corporate Health and Safety Officer and has demonstrated expertise in using Geographic Information Systems software to visualize and analyze environmental data.
Mr. Metzger has completed coursework towards a Master's of Science in Applied Geosciences from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Metzger resides in southern New Jersey with his wife and two kids.
